People ask me all the time: how do I stay so disciplined on my vegan diet? The thing that helps me stay on track the most is goal setting.

Queen Afua discusses plate percentages in her book, Heal Thyself for Health and Longevity. I took this knowledge and meshed it with some of my old classroom research…

This has been extremely effective for me on my journey.

Smart goals are goals that are :

S- Specific  (You can’t change it all at once!)

M- Measurable  (You have to be able to track your progress.)

A- Attainable  (You have to have a plan.)

R- Results Driven  (You have to have some kind of outcome.)

T- Time  (It is important to give yourself a time period. This will help you continue to grow and change.)
An example of a goal: I am going to become a raw foodist.
An example of a SMART Goal:  I am going to eat a raw fruit or veggie with every meal, and eat only raw snacks in order to increase my raw intake to 45% from now through May.
